Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an enlarged heating plane in the heat pipe and to enable the use of the heat pipe at a relatively high temperature by forming the heat pipe with a thin metal plate provided with a number of embosses in parallel on the surface and another unembossed thin metal plate attached thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The thin metal plate 1 provided with a number of embosses 3 in parallel and the unembossed thin metal plate 2 are welded or pressure contacted in an integral unit to form the heat pipe. Thus, a number of unit heat pipes are arranged in parallel, which can provide a great resistance against the external pressure due to a high vacuum and the inner pressure due to the steam of the working liquid at a high temperature. Accordingly, thus constructed heat pipe can provide an enlarged heating plane and resistance enough for the use at high temperatures.
