Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of inspection by rotating capsules by the revolving roller provided in proximity to a conveying drum during the conveyance of the capsules longitudinally by a conveying drum and inspecting the entire surface of the capsules. CONSTITUTION:A capsule 40 which is retained in a supply chamber 14 enters the inside of the through-hole 42 of a conveying drum 16 which is rotating clockwise, and the capsule skids on a guide plate 44 and is thereby conveyed. When it is conveyed from the end part of the plate 44 onto a revolving roller 48 on progression of the rotation of the conveying drum, the capsule 40 is sucked into a negative pressure chamber 54, and is pressed to the roller 48. Thereby, the capsule 40 is rotated at a high speed by the roller 48, and its surface is spirally scanned by an optical inspecting device. The capsule 40 having received the optical inspection is transferred from the roller 48 to a guide plate 46 with the progression of the rotation of the drum 16, and is conveyed by skidding on the plate 46. The capsule 40 is screened of nondefective and defective and is discharged through chutes 22, 24.
