Abstract
PURPOSE: The title granulating agent comprising a specific amine salt, accelerating the granulation of coal powder and makng it easy to remove ash and inorganic matter contained in the powder.
CONSTITUTION: When granulating coal powder in water by adding an oil (binder) to an aqueous slurry of coal powder, an amine salt represented by the formula, where R1 is 8W22C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is H or 1W22C alkyl, alkenyl or benzyl; and X is halogen or acetic acid residual group, e.g., laurylamine hydrochloride, or laurylbenzylamine acetate is used as a granulating agent. The suitable amount of the above-mentioned granulating agent is about 0.01W5wt.%, based on the amount of coal in the coal slurry.
