Abstract

PURPOSE: To maximally utilize the recovered energy of exhaust gas of a main diesel engine when a first and a second prime movers such as diesel engines are actuated in parallel with each other by an exhaust boiler at the main diesel engine which drives a propeller shaft or the like, by providing a motive power controller for the first prime mover.
CONSTITUTION: Steam separated from water in a steam separation drum 4 for a boiler 3 is given heat by exhaust gas 11 from a main diesel engine 1, in the heating portion 15 of an exhaust economizer 2, so that the steam becomes superheated steam which is supplied to a steam turbine 5. The pressure in the drum 4, which is detected by a pressure sensor 23, is converted into an electric signal by a pressure controller 21 to regulate the ratio between load shares of electricity generator 7, 9 through an automatic load sharing unit 10 to keep the pressure in the drum 4 constant. When the pressure in the drum 4 has risen, an appropriate part of load is shifted from the diesel generator 9 to the turbogenerator 7 to increase the consumption of steam to lower the pressure in the drum. The load shares are thus set.
