Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet type recorder wherein an ink absorbing member is arranged to a part of a platen opposed to an ink jetting recording head thereby even if paper has been run out and ink has jetted, the paper and/or hand will not be stained. CONSTITUTION:The ink absorbing members 22, 32 are arranged to at least a part of a platen-paper feeding roller 20 or the platen 30, the part being opposite to the ink jet head 10. Hence, the staining of the platen that will occur during the idle printing before the loading of the recording paper or when the paper is run out during the printing can be prevented, and therefore the recording paper or hand will be prevented from being stained.
