Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate an apparatus for automatically feeding weft spools from a weft spool containing magazine to save labor by constituting the apparatus such that weft spools are dropped one by one onto a conveyor so as to be fed to a selector.
CONSTITUTION: A magazine 1 which contains weft spools W therein is transferred from a roller conveyor 3 to another roller conveyor 4, and the weft spools S within the magazine are gradually pushed up by an endless belt 5 having a carrying face at a higher level, and then a lever 2 is pivoted into disengaged condition by a spring force. When the magazine 1 advances to a position just above a drop opening 6, it is detected so that the conveyor 4 is stopped there. Here, the weft spools in the forwardmost row are dropped one by one onto another conveyor 7 and are fed thereby to a selector 19. When a photoelectric switch 15 provided at the drop opening 6 detects that there remains no more weft spool, the conveyor 4 is moved again. The conveyor 4 is stopped now at the second row of the weft spools so as to carry out another dropping operation for these weft spools. Further, similar operations are repeated for each of the remaining rows of the weft spools.
