Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform effective reduction of compressor power in an open cycle gas turbine, by cooling air through an air cooling system with a cold temperature source of liquefied natural gas and mixing the air with the different outside air then allowing a compressor to suck said air.
CONSTITUTION: An open cycle gas turbine is operated in such a manner that a turbine 2 is driven to rotate the load of a generator 1 or the like by compressing air with a compressor 3 and performing its combustion with fuel in a combustor 11 then feeding high temperature and high pressure gas to the turbine 2. In this case, low temperature air 14 cooled by utilizing cold heat of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through a separate air cooling system 12 is poured into and mixed with intake air 13 sucked into the compressor 3. In this way, mixed air temperature is lowered to not more than the freezing point of water, then moisture in the atmosphere is sucked to the compressor 3 as very fine ice in a floating state in the mixed air.
