Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a stator core having excellent characteristics and good heat dissipation in a high productive efficiency by forming a steel strip in a wavy shape, then winding the strip in a cylindrical shape to form a casing, inserting a stator core into the bore of the casing and fixedly welding it. CONSTITUTION:After a steel strip is formed on a continuously wavy shape, it is rounded in a cylindrical shape and is welded at the ends. After both axial ends 3 of the cylindrical strip are crushed by a pressing die, the strip is then welded and sealed to form a casing body 2 having wavy heat dissipating fins 1. After a stator core 4 is inserted into the bore of the body 2 and the coupling parts 5 of the core 4 are butted to the bottoms of the casing body, a high energy density welding is performed at the butted parts 7 and is thus fixedly welded. Since the area of the fins 1 can be increased in this manner, the heat dissipation of the fins can be improved, and the characteristics can not be deteriorated by engaging the welded parts 7 with the coupling parts 5 respectively.
