PURPOSE:To make a type concn. uniform by a method wherein switching of a drive pulse amplitude is carried out against a continuously driven heat generating resistor as well as a drive pulse amplitude of the heat generating resistor adjacent to the heat generating resistor directly after the driving is also switched-over. CONSTITUTION:To regiters A, B, C, a dot-data to be typewritten, one preceding data and two preceding data are latched respectively. Now, when mono-multivibrators (A), (B) are triggered by dot timing, output of an OR-gate 10 comes to one level only for a time TC=TA+TB. Therefore, the dot data in a register (A) 1 is supplied to groups of an input gate 2 through groups of an AND-gate 7 only for a time TC. In this case, if output bit of a register (C) 12 corresponding to the input gate 2 is one and/or either one of output bits in both sides adjacent to output bit corresponding to a register (B) 4 is one, the output of a corresponded NOR-gate 11 comes to zero only for a time TA and the corresponding transistor 16 is driven only for a time TB.
