Abstract
PURPOSE: A surface treating agent for a molded polyolefinic article, prepared by dissolving a chlorinated polypropylene or ethylene-propylene copolymer (EP) modified with maleic acid (anhydride) in a solvent, and having improved adherence to a coating material, smoothness and operational rate.
CONSTITUTION: A surface treating agent prepared by chlorinating propylene polymer (PP) with a maleic acid (anhydride) content of preferably 5W20wt% or ethylene-propylene copolymer (EP) with a propylene content of 50mol% or more modified with maleic acid (anhydride) to give a chlorination degree of preferably 15W35wt%, and dissolving the resultant chlorinated PP or EP in an aromatic hydrocarbon, e.g. toluene, in a concentration of 1W30wt%. A pigment, dye, dispersing agent, etc. is incorporated in the resultant solution if necessary.
EFFECT: Good storage stability.
USE: The surface treatment of a molded article of automotive parts.
