Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent wastefully use of water by providing such a flush valve that is automatically closed after a predetermined volume of water has been discharged, even if a push rod which is moved forward and afterward by a manipulating handle, remains pushed.
CONSTITUTION: When a push rod 9 is pushed by manipulating a manipulating handle 8, a relief valve 22 is actuated through a slidable member 26 and a guide member 25, overcoming a spring force, so as to be inclined, thereby to separate from a valve seat 18. Therefore, water in a pressure chamber 13, a passage 17 and a valve chamber 19 is discharged into a secondary side portion 3b so that pressure in the pressure chamber 13 becomes lower than water pressure in a primary side portion 3a, resulting that a valve member 20 ascends. Then, a main valve member 11 is lifted from a valve seat 4, allowing water to flow from an inlet port 2 to an outlet port 2. When the slide member 26 has been pulled up and has ridden on the push rod 9 along with the ascending movement of the valve member 10, both a relief valve (c) and a control valve (b) are closed so that a main valve (a) is closed due to the descending movement of the valve body 10.
