Abstract

PURPOSE: To correct deflection distortion by correcting a vertical deflection magnetic field between the neck and cone sections of a deflection yoke device using a rear crossarm, front crossarm, and permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: Vertical coils 5A and 5B with pincushion magnetic field distribution are supported outside a coil separator 2. Rear crossarms 11A and 11B are opposedly arranged at the central inside position of the vertical deflection coils 5A and 5B on the external surface of the separator 2 and a front crossarm 12 consisting of an arm main body 13A and a pair of protruded pieces 13L and 13R are opposedly arranged on the cone tip of the separator 2. Besides, a pair of permanent magnets 15A and 15B are provided on the flange 2A of the separator 2. Thus, the vertical deflection magnetic field forms a pincushion-type one on the cone side and a barrel- type one on the neck side. As a result, convergence can be prevented from being shifted and linear distortion be corrected.
