PURPOSE: To provide an inoculating agent maintaining a stable inoculating effect for a long period, by mixing coarse grains, medium grains and fine particles having each specific particle size in a specific mixing ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The inoculating agent for cast iron has a wide range of particle size comprising 3W10mm of coarse grains, 0.3W3mm of medium grains and 0.3mm or less of fine particles and a mixing ratio comprising 25W40wt% of coarse grains, 30W40wt% of medium grains and 15W30wt% of fine particles. Any kind of publicly known inoculating agents may be used for the inoculating agent. However, the inoculating agent is suitable for inoculation for cast iron of a grade of from FC10 to FC25 which is used mainly for electrical machinery and machine part materials.
