Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce NOx in the exhaust gas from a combustion equipment without using reducing agent by a construction wherein the exhaust gas from a precombustion chamber is supplied near the complete combustion zone.
CONSTITUTION: On the furnace wall 100 of a furnace 10 are provided a plurality of stages of afterburning air charging ports 40 connecting through piping 41 to an exhaust gas duct 11a of the precombustion chamber 11 to supply the exhaust gas from the precombustion chamber 11 near the complete combustion zone. According to the construction described above, by the addition of the precombustion chamber exhaust gas with proper O2 concentration to the exhaust gas under proper ambient O2 concentration, the conversion of nitrogen compound such as HCN and the like remaining within the wake flow in a fuel-rich combustion zone to NOx is prevented, enabling to reduce NOx without using special reducing agent.
