Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the compact reduction gears and as well as increase the holding capacity of the drum by a method wherein the reduction gears containing a hydraulic motor therewithin is partially installed within the recess of the front wall of the drum.
CONSTITUTION: A spherical part 9 defined on the front surface of an inner tube 8, which forms a part of the reduction gears, is rockably secured by the securing part 11 of an inverted T-shaped holding frame 10 mounted on a front strut 3. By engaging internal gears 12 generated in the inside of the securing part 11 with external gears 13 generated on the surface of the spherical part 9, only the rotation of the inner tube 8 is brought under control without the control of its rocking motion. Nearly the whole of an outer tube 15, which forms a part of the reduction gears 7, is installed within the recess 21 formed at the center of the front wall 20 of the drum 1 and the front part of the outer tube 15 is fixed to the peripheral edge of the recess 21.
