Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of so-called "blue water" after installation of hot- water feeding piping using pipes made of copper or an copper alloy, by using pipes of a metal having a poorer potential than copper at a part of the piping, and thereby enabling to remove copper ions dissolved in hot water.
CONSTITUTION: In a hot-water feeding system for large buildings such as hotels, ferroconcrete apartment houses or the like, copper pipes are used for feeding hot water through the pipes. Here, it has been known that so-called "blue water" is generated through reaction of a small amount of copper ions dissolved in hot water with soap, dirt or other substances, particularly, within two years after starting use of the hot-water feeding system. In order to prevent generation of the "blue water", pipes of a metal having a poorer potential than copper, for instance, iron or aluminum pipes are used at a part of the piping for capturing copper ions. After passing of a certain time, for instance, two years, these iron or aluminum pipes are replaced by copper pipes.
