Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively remove dissolved oxygen through simple operation by connecting the deoxidation chamber of an electrochemical deoxidation apparatus and a vessel contg. liquid to be treated by means of pipes via a pump, and bubbling deoxidizing gas out into the liquid. CONSTITUTION:An electrochemical deoxidation apparatus 1 consisting of the cathode 2 consisting of a gas diffusive electrode, the oxygen producing anode 3 consisting of porous nickel, electrolyte 4, a gas chamber 5, etc., is connected to a deoxidation chamber 9 by means of pipes via a circulating pump 7 and a pressure compensator 8. Further, a liquid vessel 12 contg. liquid 11 is piped via a gas bubbling pump 10 to the chamber 9. If 1.1V voltage is applied across the electrodes 2, 3 while operating the pump 7 after closing cocks 13a, 13b, the air in the chamber 9 is consumed of oxygen by the cathode 2 and decreases its oxygen concn. Here, if the cocks 13a, 13b are opened, and the pump 10 is operated, the deoxidized gas in the chamber 9 is released into the liquid 11.
