Abstract

CONSTITUTION: As an adsorbent that adsorbs heavy metallic ions selectively and effectively from an aqueous liquid such as sea water that contain a very small amount of heavy metal, casein of milk etc. and/or bridged casein derivatives is used. This adsorbent exhibits very high adsorption capacity for metalic ions of high valency such as chromium, uranium etc. and especially excellent in low concentration. Accordingly, it is efficient for collection of chromium ions from waste water and recovery of uranium from sea water, and so on.
