Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the abrupt pressure rise of a system and start the system smoothly by providing a pressure control valve on the way of a pipeline connecting a high pressure pump and a reverse-osmosis membrane module, and providing a bypass valve of a diameter smaller than that of said valve in parallel with this.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine inlet valve V2, a pressure control valve PVC and a bypass valve VB1 are closed, and a turbine bypass valve V3 and a flow rate control valve FCV are kept opened at about 40%. After the motor 5 of a high pressure pump 4 is started, the valve VB1 is gradually opened, and the pressure and flow rate of the raw water flowing into a reverse-osmosis membrane module 6 are gradually increased by making use of the throttling effect of the pressure reducing orifice OB2 provided in a turbine bypass pipeline L6. When the inlet pressure of the reverse-osmosis membrane module attains a prescribed value, the valve PCV is opened, and the supply pressure and flow rate of the raw water are automatically controlled by the operation of this and the valve FCV.
