Abstract

PURPOSE: To interchange and change ingot guide pieces properly, quickly and easily according to casting sizes by guiding each of plural dummy bars or plural ingots by means of the ingot support bodies which are provided without running curved or crooked respectively and independently.
CONSTITUTION: A common support body 1 having the barrel length of a maximum castable width, rolls 4 exclusive for 2 pieces juxtaposed freely rollably to a lower frame 6 and rolls 5 exclusive for 3 pieces juxtaposed freely rollably to an upper frame 7 are provided to the above-described ingot guide device. Side face support bodies 8, 9 are mounted to the suitable parts of a flask frame 2, and ingot passage space parts A or B are formed respectively by the support body 1 and the rolls 4 or 5 and the support bodies 8 or 9. Further, the top ends of the rods 14 of the elevating devices 13 installed to a bed 11 are abutted on the bottom ends of the frame 2. If the change for ingot conditions is necessary with the above-mentioned constitution, either of the passage areas A or B is aligned to or deviated from the casting line by energizig the hydraulic cylinders 13, whereby th rolls 4, 5 are changed extremely easily.
