Abstract

PURPOSE: To make operation easy, and perform arc welding in which the arc is stable and there is no generation of spatter by determining the pulse frequency of a welding power source in accordance with the feed speeds of a wire.
CONSTITUTION: A guide roller 32 revolves, and a sensor 48 detects the bojects 46 to be detected on the roller 32 at a fixed period, and inputs the detection signal thereof to the output part 42 of a welding power source 18. Each time when the detected signal is inputted, pulse output is outputted in superposition on constant low voltage and is supplied between a welding wire 10 and the objects 16. Therefore, the arc is generated between the wire 10 and the objects 16 to be welded, and the pulse current flows in the route of 18a-22-1-44-17-18b, by which the wire 10 and the objects 16 are melted, and the leading end of the wire 10 is cut by melting, the globules whoereof are shifted onto the objects 16. The form of the globule shifting of the wire 10 is made one globule per pulse by suitably selecting the number of the objects 46, and if the feed speed of the wire is changed, the frequency of the pulse voltages changes accordingly, thus the stable arc welding free from spatter is accomplished.
