Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit a highly accurate and safe concentration measurement without dehumidification, by performing measurement while maintaining a piping system, a concentration detector and the like at optimum operating temperatures. CONSTITUTION:With temperature and pressure regulated to be optimum by means of a piping temperature regulating system 30, a pressure regulating valve 27 and the like, a sample gas is introduced into a piping 21 without generation of condensed water. Only the hydrogen gas component permeates through a hydrogen gas sampling part 25 of the palladium-silver alloy pipe whose inner surface is coated with a polychlorotrichloroethylene thin film, and the quantity proportional to the hydrogen gas partial pressure in the sample gas is accumulated in a measuring vessel 41. Said residing hydrogen gas is intermittently discharged into a vacuum chamber 28 through an on-off valve 43, and the hydrogen concentration is measured by means of a hydrogen concentration detector 42 according to the average pressure in the vessel 41 proportional to the volume concentration of the hydrogen in the sample gas. In this case, the vessel 41 contains no water vapor, oxygen or the like other than hydrogen gas, and the detector 42 is maintained at an optimum operating temperature through a temperature controlling part 44. Accordingly, a highly accurate concentration measurement is performed safely without dehumidification, condensation and the like. Also the oxygen concentration is measured in the similar manner.
