Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly and easily perform operation of calking guns, by performing pushing out of the calking material by means of compressed air in place of manual means when the calking material contained in calking guns is pushed out.
CONSTITUTION: A calking gun is composed of a cylinder 1 provided with a nozzle 2 at the front end, and the inside of the cylinder 1 is divided into a calking material charging chamber 4 and an air chamber 5 with a diaphragm 3. Pistons 8 and 9 are fitted to the front and rear ends of a rod 10 which penetrates through the diaphragm 3, so that the pistons may slide in the cylinder 1. A hole 13 which communicates the calking material charging chamber 4 and the air chamber 5 is installed through the diaphragm 3 and a handle 24 is fittd to the lower portion of the diaphragm 3. The central passage 17 of the hole 13 is communicated to an air supplying passage 42 and an air discharging passage 42 installed in the handle 24. The compressed air in the air chamber 5 is sent ot the space between the diaphragm 3 and the piston 8 through a change-over valve mechanism 25 installed in the handle 24 by operating a lever 37 and the piston 8 is advanced. In this way the calking material contained in the chamber 4 can easily be pushed out through the nozzle 2.
