Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the highly accurate measurement of three-dimensional coordinates of a measuring object possible by detecting the deflection direction of the laser beam projected to said object and the reflected image position thereof detected on a photoarray via a lens system. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam deflected by a deflecting means is projected to an object, and the reflected light image thereof is formed on a photoarray via a lens system. The three-dimensional coordinate positions of the target are operated and determined from the deflection direction of laser beam and the image forming position on a photoarray. For example, the laser beam from a laser oscillator 12 is deflected at a constant period by using a deflector 13, and is projected to the object via a beam splitter 14. The angle of deflection is determined from the scanning speed obtained by using photodetectors 16, 18, etc. and lapse time. Reflected light 25c is detected on the photoarray via lens systems 19, 20, etc. of variable focal lengths, and the three-dimensional coordinates of the object are determined in high accuracy from the image forming position thereof and the above-described angle of deflection.
