Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a titled toner of superior frictional charging characteristics, moisture resistance, etc. by dispersing the nuclear particles formed by polymn. into an aqueous latex soln., adding a water soluble inorg. salt, and allowing fine particles to settle on the surfaces of the nuclear particles thereby forming coating layers. CONSTITUTION:A composition consisting of a polymerizable monomer such as styrene, vinyl chloride, ethyl acrylate or the like and a coloring agent or the like is dispersed and suspended in an aqueous dispersion medium in which a dispersion stabilizer (e.g.; gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol) exists, thence polymn. is effected whereby nuclear particles consisting of spherical grains of about 1-50 micron grain sizes for toners are produced. Thence, the resultant nuclear particles are dispersed in 1-40wt% an aqueous latex soln., and a water soluble inorg. salt (e.g.; magnesium sulfate) is added into this dispersion to allow micro polymer particles to settle on the surfaces of the nuclear particles, whereby coating layers of <=100 microns film thickness are formed, and the intended toner for electrostatic charge image development is obtained.
