Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the reproduced sound pressure frequency characteristics, by forming a bimorph-type piezoelectric oscillator in such way that a metallic plate electrode is bonded between the piezoelectric element plates having the surface area ratios of 1:0.15-1:0.85 and then the electrodes are provided at both outer sides of the metallic plate electrode. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate electrode 23 is bonded between piezoelectric element plates 21 and 22 having the surface area ratios of 1:0.15-1:0.85, and electrodes 24 and 24' are provided at both outer surface sides of the electrode 23. Thus a bimorph-type piezoelectric oscillator is obtained. Then a vibrating plate 26 is attached at the outer circumference edge of the piezoelectric oscillator. Accordingly the reproduced sound pressure frequency characteristics is decided for its lower limit frequency by the resonance frequency of the sum M of the weight m1 of the above-mentioned oscillator, the weight m2 of the plate 26 and the additional weight m0 of the air added by the vibration of the plate 26 and the compliance C of an edge 26a that supports the component parts of the vibrating system. While the upper limit frequency is equivalent to the resonance frequency when both the above- mentioned oscillator and the plate 26 are regarded as a unified body and can be regarded substantially as the resonance frequency of the above-mentioned oscillator.
