Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to maintain high heat transport ability with high heat transfer ability for a long period of time by forming the wall of hollow fibrous separation membrane of the heat pipe into three-layer structure consisting of a solution sealed intermediate porous layer and solute impervious inner and outer surfaces minute layers.
CONSTITUTION: When heat is given to an endothermic part 7a, the water content of brine within an intermediate porous layer 12 of a hollow fibrous separation membrane 9 evaporates through an outer surface minute layer 11. On the other hand, an osmotic pressure phenomenon is introduced by a large difference in the concentration between condensed water in an inner part flowpath 14 and brine in an intermediate porous layer 12, and condensed water passes through an inner surface minute layer 13 and infiltrates into the intermediate porous layer 12. Since the intermediate porous layer 1 has an amply small thickness, the brine is extended with the layer to lower the concentration of the brine. Thus, a large osmotic pressure difference is maintained without lowering the concentration of the brine in the vicinity of the layer 11, thereby retaining the transfer of the liquid. Accordingly, the heat transport ability can be retained for a long period of time, and the heat transfer ability per unit sectional area can be increased.
