Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain X-type zeolite with high purity and high activity by mixing alkali metallic salt of aluminic acid, alkali metallic salt of silicic acid and alkali metallic hydroxide with water while keeping them at a specified alkalinity, agitating the mixture, and raising the temp.
CONSTITUTION: Alkali metallic salt of aluminic acid (A), alkali metallic salt of silicic acid (B), alkali metallic hydroxide (C) and water (D) are used as starting materials in amounts satisfying the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3=2.5W3.6 and that of M2O/Al2O3=3.6W6.5 (M is alkali metal). They are mixed while regulating the amount of the component C used so that the alkalinity of the aqueous soln. phase of the mixture is adjusted to 1.3W2.9N. The mixture is agitated at ≤40°C to produce amorphous aluminum silicate, and the resulting slurrified mixture is agitated at 10W45°C for ≥1hr, crystallized by raising the temp. to 80W105°C in ≥1h, and held for ≥2hr to manufacture X-type zeolite with high purity and high activity.
