Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a fine polished surface to be obtained by constituting a polishing wheel arrangement such that adjacent polishing pieces are closely contacted with each other with rightwardly inclined ones and leftwardly inclined ones being arranged in combination so that grain surfaces may be abutted uninterruptedly against the entire surface of a work to be polished.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of polishing wheels A are fitted in series on a cylinder body 3 and secured thereto by means of a nut 5. The direction of inclination of polishing pieces is regularly varied among the polishing wheels A, and in particular, two polishing wheels A1 having the rightwardly inclined polishing pieces and the polishing wheels A2 having the leftwardly inclined polishing pieces are arranged in alternate relationship, and these polishing wheels A1 and A2 are fastened and secured to the cylinder body 3 by the nuts 5. The polishing pieces of the polishing wheels A are mounted such that surfaces of respective emery cloth pieces are opposed to a pipe E and polishing surfaces 22a are bent rearwardly irrespective of whether they are inclined rightwardly or leftwardly, whereby their grain surfaces are abutted directly against the pipe E to thus enable a uniform and fine polishing surface to be obtained thereby.
