Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively provide a ball alloy for pulverization consisting of a prescribed percentage each of C, Si, Mn, CR, Ni, Cu, B and Mo and the balance Fe and having high hardness, superior wear resistance and high toughness even in case of large diameter.
CONSTITUTION: The chemical composition of this ball alloy for pulverization consists of 1.80W3.00% C, 0.30W1.50% Si, 0.30W1.00% Mn, 10.0W15.0% Cr, 0.20W 1.00% Ni, 0.20W1.50% Cu, ≤0.40% B, ≤0.30% Mo and the balance Fe. By especially adding a very small amount of Mo as mentioned above, balls of stable quality for pulverization are obtd. even in case of large-sized balls or a considerably low air hardening speed.
