CONSTITUTION:A circuit is provided with an input part consisting of light emission surfaces of (m)-number of input-side waveguides arranged widthwise in one body, a waveguide part which while coupled with the input part, has an (m)-by-(w) width end surface, length L in the traveling direction of light, and uniform refractivity, and an output part which while coupled with the (m)-by-(w) width end surface of the waveguide part, branches into (m)-number of output-side waveguides having width (w). Then, equation I holds for the length L when the refractivity of the waveguide part is (n), the wavelength of a light source is lambda, and a small integer which is relatively prime to (m) or a real number close to it is (l).
