Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify polarizing plate working facilities and to improve operation efficiency by detecting the defective of a long-sized polarizing plate during its movement, and then by cutting only the polarizing plate at constant intervals and also cutting it right after the defective is found. CONSTITUTION:A defective sensor 25 monitors the defective 3a of a polarizing plate tape 3, moving on a cutter rest 22, by a line right under a cutter 23. The sensor 25, once detecting the defective 3a, stops a feed mechanism 13 to open and move a clamp 18 back to a starting position, and also controls the feed mechanism 13 and a cylinder 24 to put the cutter 23 in cutting operation. As the defective 3a is detected, a cut 3b is made right after the defective 3a to cut a short-sized defective polarizing plate 4a. Therefore, polarizing plate working facilities are simplified and operation efficiency is improved by using a long-sized polarizing plate.
