Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature difference between the inner and outer rings of bearing without lowering the mechanical strength of the rotary shaft, by making a groove in the outer-circumferential face of the rotary shaft facing with the inner face of the fixed section between two roll bearings thereby improving the heat radiation performance of said face. CONSTITUTION:A groove is made in the outer-circumferential face of the rotary shaft 3 facing with the inner face of the fixed section between two roll bearings 4, 5 for supporting the anode 1 of a rotary anode X-ray tube. In such a manner the heat radiation from the rotary shaft 3 toward said inner face is increased between said two bearings 4, 5 to lower the temperature of the rotary shaft 3 thus to reduce the temperature difference between the inner and outer rings of the bearing and the bearings 4, 5 are protected from the damage.
