Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a titled detector which can detect also the short-circuit of high voltage ending in an extremely short time by detecting the short circuit by the output corresponding to the local dropped part of the arc voltage out of the output of a high pass filter added with the arc voltage signal between an electrode wire and molten base metal.
CONSTITUTION: The arc voltage signal (ea) applied between an input terminal IN and the ground is conducted via resistances R1, R2, and a capacitor C1, to the inversion input terminal of an operational amplifier OP1. This amplifier OP1 consstitutes a high pass filter with a feedback resistance R3 and the capacitor C1, and the signal (e1) corresponding to the differential waveform of said signal (ea) is produced between the output terminal thereof and the ground. Next, this signal (e1) is conducted via a resistance R4 to the non-inversion input terminal of an operational amplifier OP2; at the same time, reference potential (e) is applied via a resistance R5 to the inversion input terminal of the amplifier OP2. If the potential (e) and the signal (e1) are compared and amplified with the amplifier OP2, the pulse signal of constant height corresponding to the short circuit part that occurs is obtained in the output terminal 2 through a resistance R6.
