Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the thermal efficiency of a liquid heating apparatus of the type in which liquid sprayed from a spray means is heated by bringing the same into direct contact with combustion gas of a burner, by constituting the liquid spray means by liquid supply pipes having a double- tube structure, and feeding different liquids separately to said liquid supply pipes.
CONSTITUTION: When city water supplied from a water circulating passage 6c is ejected from a spray means 8, it is scattered to a second water reserving section 5 by the function of guide plates 9. Here, if a combustor 3 is set into operation, combustion gas is discharged upward from outlet ports 2a at the top of a combustion chamber 2 and flows counterwise to liquid particles sprayed from the spray means 8, thus heating the liquid particles and the second water reserving section 5 directly by the combustion gas. When water in the section 5 begins to overflow as the amount of water sprayed from the spray means 8 in the section 5 is increased, the water thus overflowed from the section 5 flows downward into a first water reseving section 4 while being heated by combustion gas, and then is carried into a water reserving chamber 14, in which water is circulated via an upper and a lower two conduits 15. When the level of liquid in the chamber 14 has reached a certain level, a water supply valve 13 is closed and water is after-burned as the case demands by operating a circulating pump 7.
