Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve ignition timing control accuracy simultaneously with minimizing influence on machining accuracy of toothed wheels by properly determining the fixing position of two detectors and the revolving direction of the toothed wheels. CONSTITUTION:A ignition timing controller is constituted with a toothed wheel 1 which has two teeth A, B and revolvs clockwise, a detector 2 of proximity switch type to detect the top dead point of the engine, a detector 3 to detect 90 deg. ahead of the top dead point, and a processor 4 provided with a microcomputer, etc. Besides, fixing relation between teeth A, B of the toothed wheel 1 and two detectors 2, 3 are determined such that there should be a tendency of offsetting effects of the tooth A or B on both periodical measuring results and the reference position signal for starting meausrement of ignition timing against each other. This facilitates to minimize influecece of machining error in the toothed wheel, and to minimize variation of advance angle between cylinders.
