Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce operating power for a compressor at the time of its no-load operation, by providing a solenoid valve open-close controlled with internal pressure in an air tank and a pressure regulating valve holding pressure to constant in an oil separator only during no-load operation.
CONSTITUTION: A two-way solenoid valve 18, open-close operated by a pressure switch 21 detecting internal pressure in an air tank 15, and a pressure regulating valve 22 are provided in an air release passage 23 of an oil separator 8. When pressure in the air tank 15 goes up to a prescribed value by a compressor 6, the solenoid valve 18 is opened to both vent air in the oil separator 8 from a vent passage 20 to the atmosphere through an air release piping 24 and close an unloader valve 4, then the compressor 6 goes into a state of no-load running. During the above time of no-load operation, pressure in the oil separator 8, being kept to constant by the pressure regulating valve 22, causes a small pressure difference with the inside of the compressor 6 capable of reducing the power for its operation.
