Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce hydrogen loss, increase hydrogen concentration in circulating gas, and save power consumption, by a method in which components other than hydrogen in a hydrogen-containing gas coming from a reactor are removed by adsorption, and the hydrogen-rich gas is circulatingly used for hydrogenation of petroleum and coal.
CONSTITUTION: Stock oil from a line 10 and a circulating gas from a line 123 are mixed together, heated in a heat exchanger 1 and a heating furnace 2, and reacted in a reactor 3. Then, the reaction product is sent through a line 12 into a high- pressure, high-temperature separation tank 4 where it is separated into gas and liquid. The gas is sent through a line 13 to a heat exchanger 5 for cooling and then sent to a high-pressure, high-temperature separation tank 6 to separate it into gas and liquid. The separated gas is supplied through a line 15 to an adsorption bed 117, where hydrocarbons and hydrogen sulfide present in the circulating gas are adsorbed to raise the concentration of hydrogen in the circulating gas to approx. 99.9%. The hydrogen-rich circulating gas is sent through a line 122 to a pressurizer 9 and then reacted with stock oil after passing through a line 123.
