Abstract

PURPOSE:To emulsify liquids effectively by ultrasonic waves of small energy by inclining the leading end of an ultrasonic horn with respect to a liquid surface and immersing the inclined bottom end thereof shallow under the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:In a device of emulsifying >=2 kinds of different liquids by ultrasonic waves, the leading end 5 of an ultrasonic horn 1 is inclined by an angle theta with respect to the liquid surface 10 in an inside tank 6b and the inclined bottom end thereof is immersed shallow under the liquid surface. Then, a hydro-dynamically unstable area is formed to the fluid near the leading end 5, and the liquid surface builds up at the top end of the end 5 and is forced down at the bottom end. Since the end 5 is not in the liquid, the influence of the liquid pressure is small and the liquids ae emulsified efficiently by ultrasonic waves of small energy.
