Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently practically perform an electrostatic sorting for material having comparatively large specific gravity and particle size, that has not been separated by a conventional electrostatic sorting machine, by rotating a drum or a revolving belt erversely to the dropping direction of the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The mixture supplied from a vibrating feeder 3 is dropped onto a position shifted from the top of a rotating drum 1, and electrically charged by a large amount of ions supplied from an electric discharge wire 2. Pure compost particle generates electrostatic repulsive force through receiving the electric charge of the same kind from the drum 1, because of its large electric conductivity, and drops onto a hopper 4. On the other hand, glass particle is made to be in a mutually attracting condition with the electric charge existing on the surface of the drum 1, because of its small electric conductivity, and drops onto a hopper 5 after conveyed to an upside by the rotation of the drum 1. Further, a brush 6 is provided to scrape off the glass particle which has not dropped yet own-weight.
