Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency, by converting the binary signal sequence, which is obtained by scanning an original, to a patten code and transmiting the pattern code and by converting an area, which cannot be converted to the pattern code, to a FAX code and transmitting the FAX code. CONSTITUTION:In the transmission side of a facsimile device, the binary signal sequence obtained by a scaonning part 1 is stored in a file memory 2. A pattern recognizing part 6 causes contents of the memory 2 and standard pattern of a dectionary memory 7 to correspond to each other, and contents recognized as a pattern are encoded by a pattern code generating part 8. An area while can be recognized as a pattern is stored in a pattern conversion memory 21. A selection circuit 2A uses a FAX code generating part 3 to convert an area, which cannot be recognized as a pattern in contents of memories 2 and 2B, to a FAX code. The pattern code and the FAX code are stored in a buffer memory 4 and are transmitted.
