Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable tape tension to be set at a low value even though the braking force of a pad holder is set at a high value, by circularly arranging a plurality of accumulator rollers between a tape pad and a taping portion so as to make effective use of the pulley function of the rollers.
CONSTITUTION: A tape 2A which is paid out from a tape pad 2 under an intial tension set by a brake 36 runs around a plurality of a accumulator rollers 46 of a circular accumulator device 44 so that the tension of the tape 2a is set a low value, then runs around inclined rollers 34 of a guiding device 30 and is finally attached to a wire 1 which passes through a wire feed passage in a hollow shaft 16. With this arrangement, rotation of the hollow shaft 16 during the wire 1 running allows the tape 2a to wrap around the wire 1. Thereby, breakage of the tape is prevented since the tension of the tape is set at a low value even though a taping machine 10 is operated at a high speed. simultaneously, the brake 36 is maintained to be set at a high value so as to prevent fluctuation in tension at a start and a stop of the taping machine 10, and also prevent the affection of tapering-off winding from being subjected to.
