Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a copolymer excellent in mechanical strength, dimensional stability, moldability, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance, by reacting a polyamide with a copolymer of a styrene compound and an amide compound of an α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: 1W99wt% styrene copolymer (A), MW10,000W30,000, obtained by copolymerizing 30W99mol% styrene compound with 1W30mol% imide compound of an α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, having the formula, wherein R1W3 are each H, an alkyl, an alkenyl, a cycloalkyl, phenyl or the like, and 0W60mol% copolymerizable monomer, e.g., acrylonitrile, is melt-mixed and reacted at 220W330°C with 99W1wt% polyamide (B) to obtain a high-molecular material comprising a copolymer in which the polymer chain portion of component A is bonded to the polymer chain portion of component B.
