Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyethylene pipe highly resistant to chlorine-contg. water, which is prepd. by molding a specified polyethylene composition obtd. by blending a low- density polyethylene with a medium-or high-density polyehtylene.
CONSTITUTION: 95W70pts.wt. high-pressure polyehtylene of density 0.91W0.935g/ cm3, melt index ≤1g/mm and ratio of weight-average MW to number-average MW of 3W10 is blended with 5W30pts.wt. medium/low-pressure polyethylene of density 0.93W0.965g/cm3 and melt index ≤30g/10mm, and the resulting composition is molded to obtain a polyethylene pipe.
