Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce wall surface with a fine appearance like a stained glass tone, a multi-colored pattern inlaid with jewels or an elegant pattern of light color spots, by using synthetic resin flakes containing metal powder as the aggregates for wall covering material.
CONSTITUTION: Wall covering material composition made of aggregates consisting of figurate or amorphous synthetic resin flakes, about 0.1W2mmthick and about 3W20mm square in size, and metal powder. In producing said sysnthetic resin flakes, unsaturated polyester resin, urea resin, polystyrene resin, vinyl chloride resin, etc. are used; these resins are blended with metal powder, pigments, dyes, hardeners, hardening accelerators, plasticizers, etc., and the mixture is solidified into an about 0.1W2mm thin layer, which is further cut, die-cut or crushed in sizes about 3W20mm square. The wall covering material composition is made of said synthetic resin flakes containing metal powder as the aggregates, with the addition, for example, of sand, crushed matters of rubber, etc. and fiber particles such as pulp, glass wool, etc.
