Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the heat transfer capacity of the captioned heat transfer pipe and to facilitate the manufacture of the pipe by a method wherein a fin having a number of fine grooves at the position other than the outer periphery of the side surface thereof is wound around the heat transfer pipe with the non-grooved edge thereof lying outside.
CONSTITUTION: In case where heat is exchanged between a gas stream containing a liquid mist and a heat medium by use of the heat transfer pipe 1, the fin 3 of the pipe is made to have the thin grooves 4 on at least one of the side surfaces thereof with the exception of the outer periphery 3e thereof. The fin 3 which is band-shaped is wound around the heat transfer pipe 1 with the edge 3e of the non-grooved section lying outside. With the above structure, the surface of the fin 3 is moisturized in the liquid mist and the heat transfer capacity of the pipe 1 can be improved. Further, the heat transfer pipe 1 can be manufactured quite easily because it is completed only by winding the fin 3 around the pipe.
