Abstract

PURPOSE: To offer a gold permanent magnet alloy having an excellent coercive force, corrosion resistance, etc., by finely uniformly dispersing a ferromagnetic phase such as Fe, Co, Ni or the like into a nonmagnetic Au matrix phase.
CONSTITUTION: 0.5W20% Fe, 0.5W10% Co and 0.1W10% Ni are added into Au. In addition, 0.5W20% Cu and 0.5W10% Zn may be further added, or at least one of Ti and Zr, each being 0.05W2% may be further contained. After plastically deformed by drawing, rolling or the like, the Au alloy is aged in the temperature range of 300W600°C. During the aging, a magnetic field of 3,000W5,000Oe is applied onto the alloy, to deposit fine ferromagnetic particles such as Fe, Co, Ni or the like parallely along the magnetic field. Consequently, a permanent magnet alloy having a high coercive force, in which ferromagnetic Fe, Co or Ni particles are elongated along the working direction in the nonmagnetic Au matrix phase, can be obtained.
