Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the location of a relay device in failure of a pilot signal, by discriminating if the pilot signal is greater than a normal range, controlling a current flowing to an interposed pair, and detecting the direction of current at a terminal station. CONSTITUTION:In a relay device 2, element assemblies in which rectifying elements 12, 12' are combined in series with switching elements 11, 11' so that they are in opposite polarity, are connected in parallel. In a terminal station 1, an AC power supply 15, DC ammeters 13, 13' with rectifying elements 12, 12' in series and in opposite polarity, and an AC voltmeter 14 are provided. If the level of a pilot signal is increased to the reference level, the switching element is controlled by a pilot signal amplifier 6 and a pointer of the DC ammeter 13 is deflected. Thus, a failed part is discriminated from the resistance value of an interposed pair 3, and failed level of the pilot signal can be discriminated from the polarity of a current flowing to a pair 4.
