Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition giving a textile product having remarkably improved light resistance and weather resistance, by compounding a specific UV-absorber in combination with an epoxy-containing polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A halogen-containing polymer such as vinyl chloride polymer, a compolymer of vinyl chloride and acrylonitrile monomer, etc., is compounded with a compound selected from benzotriazole compounds, cyanoacrylate compounds, and nickel complex salt compounds, together with an epoxy-containing polymer. The epoxy-containing polymer is e.g. glycidyl methacrylate polymer, epoxidized buta- diene polymer, etc., and pref. has a low epoxy number. It is possible to incorporate metallic soaps, antioxidants, etc. for the thermal stabilization, however, the additive should be selected cautiously because the combined use with some organotin compound causes the lowering of the effect.
