Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the passage loss of light by disposing four pieces of optical fibers to the incident and exit face of the other end perpendicular to the central axis of a reflector of which the length is equivalent to about n/4 pitch (n is positive odd number) and has two reflecting surfaces at one end, in parallel with the central axis. CONSTITUTION:A focusing optical transmission body 5 has length corresponding to 1/4 pitch, has an incident and exit face 52 perpendicular to a central axis 51 at one end and is formed with reflecting surfaces 53 and 54 applied with symmetrical reflection films to the central axis 51 at the other end. On the other hand, four pieces of optical fibers 1-4 are disposed roughly at equal intervals on a straight line in proximity to the face 52 in parallel with the optical axis 51. For example, the light emitted from the fiber 2 advances through the body 5, is made incident to the faces 53 and 54 in parallel to the optical axis 51, and the reflected light is made incident to the fibers 1 and 3. The optical coupling circuit which is free from turning round of the light from the insertion end to the branch end, is small in passage loss, is simple in construction and is inexpensive is obtained.
